Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the problems of human existence and humanness as leading in the philosophical heritage of H. Skovoroda and substantiate the relevance of their values and worldview solutions for today. Methodology. The use of methods of historical and philosophical analysis is productive, which made it possible to analyze the problem of human existence and humanness in the philosophical teachings of H. Skovoroda; to find out the ideological significance of Skovoroda’s value-based solution to the problem. Scientific novelty. The article considers the realities of the technological revolution at the beginning of the XXI century (known as the 4th Industrial Revolution, Industry 4.0, etc.), which today actualizes the appeal to the development of philosophical and anthropological paradigm revealing the fundamental problems of human existence and humanness as the ability to be a Human in this Being. The figure of Hryhoriy Skovoroda (1722–1794) belongs to the constellation of humanist philosophers whose teachings left us the response to our anxieties and doubts. Taking into account the multi-vector aspects of the problem, humanity seeks to make the transition from the theoretical development of humanness to its practical implementation. In particular, this is stated in the reports of the Club of Rome, conferences of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Conclusions. Conceptualization of the problem of human existence and humanness directs our search to the philosophical and theoretical foundations of humanism, in particular in the representation of the ethical teachings of Hryhoriy Skovoroda. These teachings are important for applied aspects of philosophical knowledge in the present, the establishment of humanistic principles and ideals, respect for the individual, tolerance of Other/Foreign, the definition of one’s own actions and activities as self-knowledge and self-realization which open for man and humanity the prospect of achieving a state of harmonious interaction and happiness.
