CREATIVE IMAGINATION AND PROCESS OF THE ARTISTIC COGNITION OF SOCIO-CULTURAL REALITY

Abstract. In the modern scientific discourse the problem of social cognition, creative process, the perception of literary and artis-tic work is studied very actively in the light of a postmodern para-digm. The study of the phenomenon of creative imagination is con-nected with various branches of knowledge, which contributes to the manifestation of its diversity of understanding and interpretation. The artistic work is the result of socio-cultural searches and visions that specifically reflects the processes of reality and at the same time ap-pears as the original factor in the concept of a possible future. The purpose of the paper is to clarify the role of the pheno-menon of creative imagination in the context of social cognition of socio-cultural reality by means of artistic creativity. David Chalmers, as a researcher of the problem of conscious-ness, proposed a non-reductive theory based on the principles of struc-tural coherence and organizational invariance, which are manifested in a two-dimensional view of information. Any artistically valuable product is inextricably connected with socio-cultural factors, with the «spirit of time», with general and sub-jective notions of the existing realities and the person himself. Ivan Franko as a subject of social cognition operates with facts and objective realities and refers to the artistic texts of his contem-poraries relying on his own practical experience. The individual con-sciousness of the author plays an important role in the process of reproducing the facts of life and their embodiment in the artistic word. Creativity as the freedom of imagination in the process of so-cial cognition includes various aspects relating to author՚s subjectivi-ty, artistic work as a result of creativity and social cognition. The artist decodes social realities dividing them into «atoms» in his imagination, links these «atoms» of social realities and forms a holistic image of reality that objectifies in the artistic work. Social perception of the artistic work appears as an option for the recon-struction of socio-cultural reality, as decoding, decrypting the ideas of the representatives of other epochs presented by the author. Crea-tive imagination will be seen as constructive and productive imagi-nation, which reproduces the image of social reality, its «spirit of time», its immanent and obvious signs.
