TRENDS OF DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the article is to identify and substantiate the trends in the development of higher education in modern Ukraine in a time-space dimension – unity and conflicting factors and consequences of changes – before the war, during the russian- Ukrainian war of 2014–2022 and in the future – in the post-war period of recovery and development. Methodology. To achieve the goal, it is effective to apply civilizational, personally oriented approaches, methods of philosophical analysis, the principle of student-centeredness, which makes it possible to analyze trends in the development of higher education in the time-space dimension of modern Ukraine; to find out the strategic features of the organization of the educational process in higher education in wartime and postwar times. Scientific novelty. The article examines the trends in the development of higher education in Ukraine, taking into account the political, economic, and social perspectives of post-war development and reconstruction. Conclusions. The trends in the development of higher education in modern Ukraine are determined by fundamental values and principles, which include the autonomy of the institution of higher education, academic freedom, freedom in expressing opinions, choosing the topics of scientific research, methodology, etc. The main trends in the development of higher education in modern Ukraine are the adaptation of the principle of Open Science in the space of higher education of Ukraine, the development of a re-emigration strategy as a counterbalance to the phenomenon of scientific emigration, the preservation and development of human potential, the modernization of the professional activity and development of scientific and pedagogical workers of the university, the organization of distance learning, the establishment of the work of psychological service centers, the involvement of universities in the forms of scientific research work in the processes of socioeconomic recovery, the displacement of russian influence from the space of Ukrainian education and science, etc.
