FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE IN UKRAINE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the article is to explore the pandemic aspects of freedom of conscience in Ukraine. The methodological foundations of the study were methods of ideological pluralism and multiculturalism, impartiality and humanism, comparativeness and impartiality, ideological and religious diversity, tolerance and nonconfessional, secular and interfaith dialogue, problematization and conceptualization of religious and philosophical materialist, philosophical and philosophical material, information and technofuturological approaches, etc. Scientific novelty – International law allows governments to restrict the activities of religious organizations for health reasons; most religious organizations were sympathetic to the need to comply with quarantine requirements; Ukraine has so far achieved a balance between state restrictions on the activities of religious organizations and their observance by the latter. Conclusions. In the study of religious freedom at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we emphasized its exclusivity in the constellation of virtually all other human rights and freedoms, and at the same time the need to respect all these rights and freedoms for its implementation. The state facilitated the translation of religious meetings into digital format and provided protection for religious communities from violators of the quarantine regime. Coverage of the general impact of the pandemic on the state of religion in the world is largely ambivalent. Given this context, it would be appropriate to focus research efforts on implementing or promoting church media pedagogy and media ecclesiasticalism, liturgical media education and church media products, church SMART education and e-religious studies– they are becoming more and more relevant in times of pandemic, when freedom of conscience is realized largely remotely and informationally, online and digitally.
