Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze the place of ideological foundations of religious ritualism in the methodology and value dimensions of the new paradigm of education. Methodology. The use of comparative method is productive which in comparison will help to see the way to achieve balance in the organization and conduct of secular and religious education, to compare the status of religious disciplines in the education system in different countries. Scientific novelty. The article compares the concepts of “religious ritualism” and “new paradigm of education” through the disclosure of the concepts of “value” and “competence”, which are indirectly related through the subject as a definition of the educational process and its desired outcome. Religious ritualism in today’s social reality is a special educational practice in the context of establishing the value dimensions of the new educational paradigm. In solving these important issues, religious and educational principles correlate focusing on the individual as the goal and subject of their vocation. The solution of problems of religion and educational values in correlation creates a general picture of tolerant education as a sign of a healthy society. The author states that the religious component in the system of public education as guidance and encouragement is unacceptable, however, the presentation of religious studies for the purposes of personal enrichment in combination with history, cultural studies, moral and ethics, law, philosophy without violating the right to choose a rational atheistic outlook can be acceptable. Conclusions. Worldview values of religious ritualism in the new paradigm of education (which we define as humanistic, personality-oriented, human-centered, tolerant, competence-based) are not intended to instill a religious worldview, but only to give an understanding of religion as a source of faith, to help find answers to questions about man, the surrounding world, society, the meaning of one's own life.
