Abstract

Summary. The article deals with P.O. Florensky’s Christology, which is one of the main sections of his religious and philosophical heritage. Contemporary researchers present different positions as for P.O. Florensky’s Christology. The purpose of the article is to reveal the conditions for the justification of a person, conceptually outlined in P.O. Florensky’s Christology. P.O. Florensky’s Christology is analyzed in the context of the Gospel of John. This context allows considering Christ not only in the spiritual-ontological aspect, in His unity with God the Father, but also in the historical aspect, namely, a Holy Manifestation to people of a Person, endowing them with spiritual power, ascending to God the Father. The main problems associated with P.O. Florensky’s Christology, such as religious cult, anthropodicea, religious and anthropological aspect of anthropodicea, are considered. Methodology. The research was carried out on the basis of the analysis of “concrete metaphysics” and “Philosophy of cult” by P.O. Florensky, relating to the late period of his work. The research is based on the historical-comparative method. Scientific novelty. It is shown that P.O. Florensky considers Christology as the key to his understanding of a man as a noumenal-phenomenal duality and the substantiation of his anthropodicea – the doctrine of justification of man, philosophical in form and religious in content. It is noted that P.O. Florensky explicates Christology in two directions: from God to man (the religious cult) and from man to God (the anropological aspect of anthropodicea). In the religious cult, Christ appears in the duality of his Divine and Human nature as the God-Man. In conclusion, the statement is formulated that for P.O. Florensky the spiritual path is a duality of theodicea and anthropodicea, which lead a person to the same goal – communion with God through sacred worship.
