ANTHROPOLOGICAL ASPECT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

Summary. The purpose of the article is to analyze the anthropological aspect of the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. The principles and categories of existential philosophy and psychology, religious worldview, dialectical and phenomenological approaches, methods of analysis and synthesis provided the methodological basis for this study. Scientific novelty. The events associated with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic can be described as an anthropological crisis. There is an increase in ontological anxiety and fear at the political, economic and physiological levels. One of the negative features of the fight against coronavirus is purposeful steps to strengthen the discipline (i.e. dictatorship) of society: there is an atomization of social life, isolation of people from each other, monitoring and control over them. In the context of the pandemic, such forms of alienation as the alienation of a person from society; a person from person; a person from herself/himself; a person from culture; a person from ecology and others have deepened. But in addition to the negative consequences, the modern pandemic has a positive meaning – it is a situation of awakening to existence, strengthening their own identity. Conclusions. Fears, loneliness, despair, anxiety, limitation of living space, a decrease in trust in the world around us, loss of a sense of security, depression – all these are separate manifestations of the fundamental crisis of human existence. To understand the situation related to the coronavirus and get the correct guidelines, it is necessary to rise from the physiological, political, economic levels of understanding to the spiritual one. In the context of the proposed problem, the question of the true goals and content of modern education and upbringing remains important. The COVID-19 pandemic raises the issue of global solidarity and cooperation.
